This is the third year where we have gone, and the third year where we have had to listen to noisy campers until well after 2:00am. There is absolutely no enforcement of quiet time. The first two years nobody came around at all to do anything about it. This year we did hear one guy at 12:30am finally telling a couple of sites to keep it down, but the partying on three sides of us did not stop for another couple of hours after that. I had to get up and put ear plugs in because I couldn't sleep. The facilities are clean and the staff friendly, but there is no gravel or anything in the tent sites, just pure dirt so it turns into sloppy mud when it rains, and there are almost no bushes between sites except for the odd twig here and there so you feel like you are in a communal campground. Some people do put up tarps between sites, but otherwise there is zero privacy.Obviously based on all the raving 5 star reviews there are a lot of people who enjoy the noisy "group" camping atmosphere (or the power sites have more privacy than the tent area), but when I camp my preference is a more peaceful and private experience where you are not sitting out in the open with nothing between you and your neighbours, and can enjoy the sounds of nature and a crackling fire not noisy drunks, inappropriate conversation topics, and swearing until all hours. This year was my last visit here.

The campground is nice enough and the staff friendly enough, but for a bit more money you can end up in a place with more shelter and more things to do. That combined with the archaic bylaw that pets aren't allowed at the beach, nor are they allowed to stay at the campground alone means we will not be returning nor suggesting to anyone else with a pet to even try. The dead sea is a bucket list item for me and I figured this would check it off for cheaper, but I never got to even try before we were given the boot. Two other vehicles pulled up and left while this was going down as well because they had pets. We weren't even at the main beach! Only place offered as a suggestion was a green looking fresh water creek. Way to promote your little 'treasure' Watrous/Manitou.

The site is beautiful, well maintained, well laid out, and very inexpensive. Great selection of hookups and the wood is reasonably priced. The sites get pretty busy on weekends. I'll be back.

First time camping at watrous. Was impressed by the park for the kids and the nice washroom facilities and the usual campground stuff was nice. However due to management errors we were parked right next to the camp kitchen which was being used by a group not in our group section. So 3 times a day we had people, dog (off leash) and vehicles IN our site. Which was totally awkward for us as we were not able to sit outside our camper. Even though our experience was due to management errors, management did nothing when we made them aware of our experience.

A 5 star campground without any doubt. First of all it's very safe and secured. It has nice clean washrooms with toilet papers and water supply. Majority of the camp sites have power supply. It has playgrounds. Sunday, there is a flee market on going beside the camp. There is also a pancake breakfast in the community hall. Sporting activities by the lake. And much more, you need to visit it to experience the details.
